The Finnish Biobank network as part of the European Research Infrastructure of Biobanks and Biomolecular Resources
BBMRI.fi is the Finnish National Node of BBMRI. The major aim of BBMRI is to develop a research infrastructure that will facilitate high quality research use of existing comprehensive collections of biological samples and associated data.
BBMRI.fi aims to promote the networking and collaboration between various stakeholders involved in biobanking, including researchers, authorities, healthcare providers, the biomedical industry, research sponsors, and the biobank community. BBMRI.fi is currently offering infrastructure services for biobank samples, including various sample handling and storage services and a LIMS system for large-scale biobanking. BBMRI.fi provides ethical and legal guidance in matters concerning biobanking.
For the future, BBMRI.fi is:
